the "Fireplace Mantle"

I thought we were going to have a French Limestone fireplace at least in our living room and it turned out to be not that case. So, I needed to come up with some ideas to substitute for the look of the mantle that I was going for and I've found these beautiful samples of mantle photos in a spring issue in Vogue knitting international magazine. How coincidence! Kitting magazine? I am a big fan of ornate moldings and corbels so I think I can come up with a great idea to create a beautiful fireplace mantle with ornamental molding pieces. I am going for bold, yet, elegant. And oversize. I think our carpenter can make one of this samples, I hope.. He advised to me on the other day that he will make a very functional kitchen pantry to store all my items for me. He even told me, "I will make a cute ladder for you to reach the very top of the shelf in the pantry!" I told him, That will be so nice to have a ladder!
What a nice carpenter to have.. ;)

the Grapevine

Somehow, to me, grapevines are symbolic of Romanticism.

I love vines in general. I used to grow all different kinds of vines but grapevines are the ones that I enjoy growing in my garden. . I think nothing is more romantic and relaxing than sitting under the patio that is covered with hanging loose grapevines over your head on a warm, breezy evening. I used to set up a simple dinner under our grapevine covered patio when we were in California. I set the table with an over sized white table cloth. I often liked to layer a couple of different sized table cloths on the table to enjoy a pretty relaxed look. I cut some of my Hydrangeas(sometimes blue, sometimes pink) and some David Austin roses and put them in a clear glass vase. For the final touch of the arrangement, I added a couple of the grapevines to dress it up little more. Nothing was over done but simple and elegant enough. I brought out candles for the table and I also placed several candles on the ground and some corners of the flower bed. Then I finally sat down with a glass of my favorite wine and my favorite CD playing from the speakers in the garden.

I took photos of this restaurant that we went to last night, some how it reminds me of what I used to like to do in my former garden that I put so much passion and labor into. Of course, my garden was a lot smaller than this vineyard, but I saw some similarities there. We had serious thunder and lightning that was accompanied by a heavy rainstorm while we were in there and it was quite an experience.

The gravels on the walkway is made out of the glass.

A small, humble water feature welcomes the guests at the entrance to their main vineyard.

The leaf hanging on the post almost look a like a christmas ornarments.

The small Tiffany lamp on the reception counter adds some sparkles in the room.

It was quite a experience to watch the lightnning show and the serious rainstorm in a glass covered patio.

My Adorable Polar Bear Little Coton," Isabelle"

I heard some noise middle of night so I came out to our family room to check what is going on. I saw Isabelle was chewing one of the toy in our kitchen floor in the dark. I had to take a photo of her because she was so adorable with her eyes half closed. I didn't quite figure out why she had to play middle of night with no one but I guess she may needed to play with no one but herself!!

Isabelle has a gorgeous eyes and she's got that from her daddy, Beau.

Not like her mommy,Scarlet(Scarlet has a round shape eyes), her eye shape is somewhat more like a almond shape and it is so adorable! The color of her eye colors are so intense pitch black, just like her daddy Beau. When I look at her eyes, I see the whole universe through her eyes!

Isabelle got her own knuckle bone in her bed and she is ready to play with it.

My Beautiful Cotons.

Camille and Scarlet was a beautiful pair. If I wanted to find either of them, I just needed to find one. Camille and Scarlet had a mutual loving bond with each other ever since Camille was born.

Camille visited her loving auntie Scarlet's bed every time when she wakes up in the morning to be with her auntie Scarlet. Scarlet was a very loving auntie who loves this little precious girl more than anybody and let her be with her in her bed. Scarlet has a tremendous quality of motherly instinct and nature so she was very happy to welcome and accept this little precious baby girl as if she was one of her own child.

Camille loved Auntie Scarlet more than her own mother. There were must be some chemistry that I don't understand. Scarlet loved Camille, and Camille just loved Scarlet.

Virtuoso Camille.

BB in my purse.

He is a such a beautiful Coton.
